Tonight at When Faith Gets Shaken, we enjoyed lots of Pizza and pudding and then heard the story of Hannah, who is a Youth worker in London who lost her son to a stabbing at a party. She shared her story of what true courage meant in how we are vulnerable and real with one another and with God. It was a really emotional and amazing story of the light God can bring into the most difficult and darkest places.
If you’d like to join us next week, feel free to, it’s Mexican week with Fajitas and nachos!
We’ll recap the story so far too 🙂
Thursday 6:30pm-8pm at Gillian’s House, all welcome 🙂
Tonight at When Faith Gets Shaken, we ate 😉 and heard stories of people who have faced bit struggles with anxiety and depression and how their faith helps them in those difficult circumstances and places. We also made Sensory Bottles with God messages to remind us of God’s peace, hope and help in difficult and stressful times.
There’s still time to join us next week as we’ll have a few new people who will be back from holiday and we’ll recap the story so far… AND we’ll be getting in Dominos Pizza and we’ll have pudding too! Don’t miss it! 🙂
Thursdays 6:30pm-8pm @ Gillian’s House. Text Lou to let her know so we can know for food 🙂
Tonight we had our first, When Faith Gets Shaken, summer session. This is 6 weeks of eating dinner and pudding together and exploring how Jesus can make a difference when life hits us like a brick in the face, how we cope when faced with illness, uncertainty, disappointment, grief, hurt, worries and failures. It’s based on hearing other people’s stories of how Jesu makes a difference and then we talk and discuss and ask our own questions and what this might mean for us. With some social time at the end.
It’s not too late to join in, many are away for the first couple of weeks on their holidays so don’t worry, feel free to join us. All welcome, whatever your views on life and faith.
Message Lou if you’re coming so we can buy plenty of food 🙂
Every Thursday up and including Thursday 18th Aug. At Gillian’s House, 6:30pm-8pm.
Today in Tribe, our 14-18 youth group we thought about the choices we make and how we can bring more of God’s heart into the world. How can we invest our time, energy, skills, heart, head space, feelings and passions into things that connect with God’s heart. When we do this Galatians 5 says:
“God’s spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”
Sometimes like a word on a balloon before we blow it up, we don’t know the fruit or consequences of whether we invest ourselves in Godly things or selfish things. But if we try and follow God’s spirit – we will bring beautiful, hopeful and loving things to this world that God loves ❤
Tonight we had so much fun, ate loads and bumped our money raised for our young people’s charities (Macmillan and Wishes for Kids) from £50 to over £100!
We enjoyed a BBQ, Ice cream, water balloons and lots of messy wet games, we even had a rainbow sent for us. Awesome evening, lovely to see new people and awesome to share this evening with some fab people! Well done guys, you’re amazing – your big hearts that want to make a difference for those in need is so inspiring 🙂
