It’s great to be part of a group but sometimes some one to one time is helpful too 🙂 this is an open ended invitation to any young person to grab a coffee/tea/whatever, you don’t have to have a big issue, you may just want to chat and that’s cool too but this invitation is for you for whenever you need it 🙂 👍 just contact me: email@example.com or on my number if you’ve got it 🙂
This Sunday (2nd August) we have Essential, we’re still relocated to the Grange pub in Oadby and all ages are welcome 🙂 We’ll spend some time catching up and discussing the Bible and a topic together that helps us to find out more how to live like Jesus in our lives and contexts and the difference He can really make to our lives and the lives of others. If you like to be a good meaty discussion of faith in action then you’ll love this! We’ll being looking at the passage in James that asks ‘Are we supposed to do good things as Christians if we’re only saved through what Jesus does on the cross?’ and what being Jesus like looks like in our everyday lives.
All welcome, you don’t need to know a lot about faith it’s about sharing views, experiences and learning together, we have people from our church, other churches or have no connection with church usually.
So come along and join us Sunday 2nd August, 7pm, The Grange Pub, Oadby.
If you let us know you’re coming we’ll know to look out for you, and order plenty of chips 😉
Our next Ignite is on Sunday 16th August – 6:30 – 7:45pm, we’ll be looking at God and creation – how he makes the big stuff and the little stuff and what that means for us 🙂 We’ve got a DVD talk and a chance to reflect afterwards and even better a chance to eat chip cobs after that.
It’s free. All young people and young adults welcome, we’re a mix of people who are exploring faith and people who have grown up in church, people who have connections with our others groups and people who just come and visit us especially for Ignite. Everyone will be welcomed and we aim to help you feel at home, it’s a relaxed and chilled atmosphere where people engage in whatever way is right for them.
If you know you are coming it would be great if you could let us know so we can order plenty of chips in advance but don’t worry if you decide last minute either… just come along, there will be plenty 🙂

He faces fears, and loneliness, pressures and temptations…but how does he deal with us this and what can we learn from it?

As I’ve been reflecting and collating feedback from the last year for writing forms and reports for the youth work it’s been amazing to be reminded of God’s faithfulness to us. We have seen him doing amazing things in big and small ways that have seen people draw closer to him, to grow more, to be challenged and encouraged, to reach out to those in need, to be God’s love and comfort in the darkest of places and to have the privilege to be a part of His plans and work is just awesome!
Our feedback shows that young people feel welcomed, valued and loved for who they are, that their groups are safe, supportive and fun places to be, that they feel they can share their lives and be real and honest, that they can learn from each other, that they can use their gifts and feel encouraged to lead the way and share new ideas, that they feel passionate about their faith and the love they receive from God and therefore the love that they want to pour out on others.
God has been faithful to us and done more than we could ever imagine and we pray in faith for the next year ahead in expectation that He will do EVEN more as we step at in faith and faithfulness to his love, truth and plans for us and the young people He loves.
Bring on the next year!
