Last night we had our 4th Ignite last night and looked at how we can doubt and question well in our faith. In those times we need each other, we need to remember that God is with us and always loves us and we need to look back at His faithfulness to us. We had worship, a talk, videos and opportunities to respond wherever we’re at in our life and faith.
And lots of pudding!
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
We started the morning in the best way with bacon and worship 🙂 We also had time to pray for each other and those we know who are in need. #PrayerBreakfast
This week we’ve been back into Manor to to reflect on the celebration of Pentecost as the start of the Church, as people began to tell others about the difference Jesus makes to their lives. We did the same and shared a story of a very unexpected Christian, a man who had gone from been labelled one of Britain’s most dangerous young criminals to someone who’s life was transformed and in his words “couldn’t stop telling everyone about it!”
It’s a reminder that Jesus is for all, whatever our background, past, struggles, questions or circumstances, no one is beyond the reach of God’s love and hope.
We’ll be taking that further at our Ignite even this Sunday evening where we explore why it’s good to question our faith and we don’t have to feel like failures when we doubt. Come along, all welcome, we’d love to see you there 🙂 (See pic below for info)
This Sunday we’ve got our prayer breakfast session – anyone welcome. We’ll eat breakfast together, worship together, pray and plan our next social 🙂 It would be great to see you there, just let us know for food 🙂 This Sunday 10am – St Paul’s Church, Hamble Road, Oadby. LE2 4NX
We had a great morning looking in depth at what it really means to share Jesus with people, what are the lessons we have learned, what does the Bible say, what do we know those around us need to help them connect with Jesus?
Here are 5 tips that our young people came up with at the end of our session.
We want Church to be a place where people feel, loved, valued and accepted whoever we are, whatever our background whatever our questions and struggles. Church is where we love, belong and grow. 🙂
24 Pizzas later and we had a real feast! Last night at FNY we made pizzas together watch out Masterchef here we come! 🙂
This Sunday in Tribe we’ll be looking at how do we share Jesus well, we can probably think of the not so positive experiences but how can we learn how to share God’s love and grace in a world that is hurting, where life isn’t perfect…what can the message of Jesus bring and how can we share that?
All welcome, come and join us as we explore this, we’d love to see new or familiar faces 🙂 We’ll have hot chocolate and yum food too 🙂
This Sunday (17th) 10am – The Barnabas Centre, Hamble Road, Oadby. LE2 4NX
Our next Ignite event is coming up soon 🙂 We’re looking at the topic of doubt and questions of faith, How do we deal with our questions? What does God have to say to us? How can we take on questions together as a community supporting each other? If you’ve struggled with God, Church or faith or you know people who have and do then come along we’d love to see you there 🙂 We’ll all face a time when we have questions for our faith so it’s good to be ready to know how to face that when it comes. 🙂
We’ll have a worship band, a talk, videos, reflections, something to take away and lots of pudding. It’s a relaxed environment that aims to help young people and young adults connect with God wherever they’re at in their life and faith.
All welcome new or familiar faces.
Come and join us Sunday 24th May – 6:30pm – St Paul’s Church, Hamble Road, Oadby. LE2 4NX
Tonight our children led their own Fun @ 4 God Made space, where we built a 6m rocket, had fun games and activities, sang songs and had a talk led by our 2 Daniel’s (only 8 years old!) and ate lots of food! They were all fantastic tonight and we’re so proud of all that they’ve done with making posters, publicity, planning, leading and inviting their friends.
Praise God for our awesome children and their message that God loves all. 🙂
This week we have been so blessed to have the BMS team with us, they have shared themselves, their experiences and challenges with our young people in our CUs, Friday Night group and Sunday service this morning and we are incredibly grateful to them. BMS aims to transform lives and I think through what they have shared this week they have done that on top of the fantastic work they have done in Mozambique.
So a huge thank you to Becka, Rachel, Steven and Ben, our thoughts and prayers go with you as you continue your tour and beyond. 🙂
