Making decisions in everyday life can be hard enough as it is but when it comes to big decisions it can be really tough to know what to do, what would God say? Can we get it wrong? Whether it’s decisions about the future, relationships, or how to deal with a particular situation, we’ll be exploring how we can approach it with God in mind.
This Sunday – 10am – The Barnabas Centre, Hamble Road, Oadby. LE2 4NX.
All welcome 🙂
Tonight a few of us went to an amazing worship event called Heaven Come Down, great to be able to put aside a whole evening to offer our worship and love to God as he pours out His love and rejoices over us as his children. 🙂
After sharing some of our testimonies as leaders at our Christian Union called 3G at Manor High School, a number of the young people really wanted to share their own testimony which is so incredibly exciting and humbling. We can’t wait to hear more and more about how Jesus is working in their lives and so proud that they want to share this with others. 🙂
At the next IGNITE we will be exploring: Is it okay to doubt? Is it okay to question the big and small things about faith? How can we do that best and how does God see that? This will be a relaxed space for young people to connect with God wherever they’re at in their life and faith, and includes a worship band, a talk, videos and lots of pudding! It’s open to all young people and slightly older young people 😉 from Leicestershire and beyond 🙂 We’d love to see you there 🙂 Sunday 24th May – 6:30pm-8pm @ St Paul’s Church, Hamble Road, Oadby, Leicester. LE2 4NX For more info please feel free to contact me (Lou McGoldrick) at email@example.com
At our first FNY back this term we turned the room into a Volleyball court. Great to see people again, bring on the rest of the term! 🙂
FNY: Fridays during term time – 7:30pm – 9pm – St Paul’s Church, Hamble Road, Oadby. LE2 4NX
We have all sorts of sports, games, activities and exciting things to do so come along, we’d love to see you 🙂
This week letters will be going out for our next weekend away… it sounds early but the summer soon makes time disappear! 🙂 It will be a weekend with time to reflect on our faith and lives, to have fun and quality time together, to eat lots and to take some time away from the hustle and bustle of life to refresh and renew us. Again we’l have lots of different activities such as sports, baking, games, competitions, music workshops and crafts. There’s ensuite rooms and lots of amazing facilities, just ask those who went last year!
So grab a letter, it’s definitely worth it! 🙂
This week we’ve been at Spring Harvest in Skegness learning about how God is Immeasurably more than we can imagine. He is higher, closer, deeper, wider and further than we realise in our everyday lives. It was fantastic to hear testimonies, to worship, to have time together, to eat lots, to explore, to see healing, to pray for others and to be able to leave inspired for how we can be Christians and Church who trust in and live for an Immeasurably more God 🙂 Exciting times 🙂
Together with our young people we have been quite creative this Lent, we got together over 6 weeks ago and discussed lots of different ways that we could use lent as a time to focus on God, to be thankful, to be prayerful and to be active in growing our relationship with God. Some people have use the 40 Acts with acts of random kindness to share God’s love and truth, some of us have been digging into the Bible and sharing and discussing what it means for us and those around us. Some of us gave up things (those with will power!) And some of us made prayer trees/vines that reminded us to be thankful, to pray for others, to prayer for our own and other people’s struggles and challenges and to pray our community, our country and our world.
It has been an amazing time of weaving God more and more into our everyday living, thinking and doing and I’m so proud of the young people, their ideas and their motivation and commitment during this lent.
Now it’s time to enjoy and celebrate Easter, continuing and learning from our lent experience.
We celebrated easter with an easter egg hunt, an egg and spoon assault course (which I was hopeless at!), we made easter nests…and ate them 😛 Had lots of food and enjoyed a film, lots of laughs and goodie bags. 🙂
A great way to celebrate life giving easter.
