It’s a subject that people often have a lot of questions about, sometimes we struggle with matching what God is like and what we assume he says about this issue.
Come along this Sunday as we look at what the Bible says about homosexuality.
Tribe – Ages 11-16 – 10am – St Paul’s Church, Hamble Road, Oadby. LE2 4NX.
Everyone welcome 🙂 You don’t have to be a christian or know a lot about faith. Come along 🙂
It’s 2 weeks until our weekend away! We would appreciate your prayers for the young people and us as leaders, that it will be an amazing and God filled time, and a chance to build relationships, be encouraged, be inspired and have fun 🙂
This week we’ve been in Manor High School, running assemblies on the idea of Comparison: The ways we compare ourselves to others, times where we’re wishing we were like them or good at what they’re good at. We focused on the fact that God creates us ALL with love, value and purpose and that we all have a place and a calling to make a difference in the world. You are not a mistake or a failure – You are a masterpiece.
“For you are God’s masterpiece, you were created to do amazing things.” Ephesians 2:10
We pray that all the 900 or so young people we have spoken to this week will feel empowered to be themselves, to be proud of themselves and to know that they are created, loved and valued by God and they all have a purpose and a place in this world. ❤
Sunday 28th September is National Back To Church Sunday – If you’ve never been to church or you’ve not been in a while WE WANT TO INVITE YOU! 🙂 Our youth group Tribe will be sharing breakfast together, chilling and sharing any prayer requests. This week at Tribe, we’ll be looking at what God says about Love and Relationships, these can be complicated and confusing at the best of times but how do we make sure we have healthy, fulfilling, happy relationships? Well God usually knows! So we’re going to see what God and the Bible have to say to us 🙂 God places a huge value on us as individuals and therefore it matters to Him that we have good relationships 🙂
Tribe: 10am – St Paul’s Church, Hamble Road, Oadby. All welcome 🙂
Tonight we had our biggest FNY ever with 24 young people and the biggest parachute we’d ever seen! Our new best Friend Derek came and led loads of fun games with a real RAF parachute which was awesome. We also had some football, volleyball and lots of sweets chucked in too. Top night 🙂
Fuse will be our 14+ equivalent of FNY, with the standard youth club equipment, fun activities and games that we do, we’ll also have an additional optional session at the end called ROOTED. In these sessions we’ll look at the relevant topics and issues for young people today in their life and faith. We’re aiming to go deeper, to inspire and to equip young people in their knowledge, gifts and passion for God. “I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.” Ephesians 3:16-18 Watch This Space 🙂
Tonight we celebrated FNY’s 2nd birthday with lots of cake, music and quality time together. God has done some amazing things in this group over the last couple of years and we know he will continue to do even more as we look towards our first weekend away and our new exploring faith course, Identity, coming up this term.
The young people describe it as a place they love to be, where they can be themselves, have fun, make great friends and feel valued. We give God the glory for all He has done and all He will do, we love them all and we know God does too. BIG SHOUT OUT to Alice and Megan who came to our very first FNY! ❤
It was amazing to share the group’s 2nd birthday with 21 young people tonight 🙂 #PraiseGod
This week at Tribe in our WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT… series we’re going to be looking at failure. How many of us fear failure? How many of us place our value in whether we succeed or “fail?” Do we put on a mask to hide who we truly are not just from the people around us but also from God?
We’re going to be looking at what God has to say to us about this, we’re all guilty of this at times but God has some amazing things to say to us. 🙂
So come along: 10am St Paul’s Church Hamble Road, Oadby. We’ll have food and drink too so what more could you want 😉 We’d love to see you there 🙂
