Our tech for the weekend away is complete and the sessions, just the last few things to organise 🙂
Please pray for the rest of the preparation, for the young people who have signed up and anyone who is still considering coming, also please pray for us as leaders, that we can be used by God in the truth, love and fellowship that we share 🙂
When: 10th -12th October
IGNITE is a evening for young people to connect with God, to be encouraged and inspired in what it means to follow Jesus despite the challenges and pressures that involves. We’ll have worship, a talk, prayer available, time to chill together and of course… FOOD! It will be an informal space and the content will be suitable for anyone whether you’re a Christian or not, there’s no pressure.
It’s free, and it’s for ages 11-18, so watch this space and invite all your friends, it’s open to ALL young people. 🙂
Friday Night Youth is back on the 5th September 7:30-9pm. Ages 10-16 years. £1 entry.
St Paul’s Church, Hamble Road, Oadby. LE2 4NX.
We’ll be doing some music jam stuff and some sporty stuff if the weather is good, so don’t miss out, as well as the normal tuck shop and speciality hot chocolate 😉 We’d love to see you there 🙂
More letters and info will be going out for the weekend away too so make sure you grab that 🙂
The booklets for our weekend away are printed and ready to go. The final letter, consent form and kit list is going out Friday 5th September at FNY, if you’re not there and want one just let me know 🙂 (firstname.lastname@example.org) All welcome and we still have places 🙂
Today we enjoyed an AMAZING Vintage Tea Party event run by one of our young people, Katie and her friend Lilly. This was in aid of the Wellbeing for Women charity. There were loads of amazing cakes and biscuits, a quiz, a raffle and some very patient swing dance instructors! 😉 It was a brilliant event and we’re very proud of the girls for the hard work they put in and their heart for helping people.
Well Done girls! 🙂
In 2 weeks time we’re restarting our “What Does God Say About…” series on the 31st August, starting with the subject of Mental Health. How do we connect the expectations of being a “happy joyful Christian” with the realities of Mental Health and the fact that it can happen to anyone. What does God say to those with Mental Health issues and how can we be God’s love in action to them. 1 in 4 people will experience a diagnosable mental health issue during their lifetime…the likelihood of us experiencing it for ourselves or people close to us is high and so it’s an important subject for us to explore as Christians.
10am, St Paul’s Church, Hamble Road Oadby. Ages 11-16.
61 days until our weekend away. Friday 10th- Sunday 12th October.
If you’d like to find out more or sign up we’ve got some spaces left. It’s going to be a great time of worship, discussion, prayer, videos, activities, fun time, quality friendship time and of course lots of food!
Drop me a message if you’re interested and you’ve not handed your slip in yet 🙂
All welcome – We’d love to see you there 🙂
