WHAT GOD SAYS ABOUT… Suffering Part 2

WHAT GOD SAYS ABOUT... Suffering Part 2

Today we looked at some real life stories of Hope in dark and tough times and how Jesus makes a difference and understands what it’s like to experience suffering and sadness.

“So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”
Hebrews 4:14-16

Join us next week as we look at how God can use even the worst things for good.

WHAT GOD SAYS ABOUT… Suffering Part 1

WHAT GOD SAYS ABOUT... Suffering Part 1

Today we kicked off our new series looking at big topics that affect our life and faith and we started with a nice easy one – suffering! This is part 1 of 3 so feel free to join us next week as week continue to look at this difficult but relevant subject.

We used the “Hope – When Life Hurts Most” DVD by Louie Giglio using the verse John 16:33:

“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

We are pretty much guaranteed to have hard times and struggles in life, the question is where do we turn in those times, this verse tells us that in Jesus we find peace and even when everything looks chaotic and out of control…God has overcome it all and he IS in control, however bad it all seems.

There are no easy answers when life seems to be falling apart but there is a place we can go.

Join us next week for part 2 at Tribe, 10am, St Paul’s Church, Hamble Road, Oadby.

TRIBE: New Series on Big Questions

TRIBE: New Series on Big Questions

This week we’re starting a new series looking at what the Bible says and therefore what God says about some of the big issues, questions and situations we and others around us may face.
It’s important as Christians that we tackle these tough subjects so that we know how to deal these with love, truth and grace in our lives and the lives of others.
If you’re interested, join us on a Sunday morning, starting in church from 10am-11:30, looking at these subject with other young people, fun and food.
All welcome.

The Bowling Tribe :)

Today, our Sunday morning group, Tribe and a few extra friends went bowling to have some chill out time together, which was fun. Lets just say some of us had more interesting techniques than others 😉

If you’re interested in joining our group or just testing us out, we meet in St Paul’s Church first (address below) for 10am and then have our own session exploring questions, issues and bible passages in relatable ways, with prayer and worship, food, hot chocolate and chill time too 🙂

Pentecost Assemblies: No one is Unreachable

Pentecost Assemblies: No one is Unreachable

This week I’m going into our local High School to share the meaning of Pentecost…that Jesus is for everyone, even the ones we least expect. I’m sharing the testimony of Darrell Tunningley, who went from Convict to Convert thanks to an Alpha Course in prison and a chat with Jesus!

We pray that this amazing testimony and work of God will be an inspiration and revelation to the 900 students who will be seeing it this week.

Take Over Church: Build Your Kingdom Here

Today we had our first Youth-Led service called Take Over Church, our young people were amazing and inspiring as they performed dramas they had written, led sung worship, creative prayer, kids songs, served refreshments and much more.

We learned what it means to be HIS CHURCH and we pray that we may be equipped and empowered to go out and share the Truth and Love of Jesus ❤

Watch this space for the next one!
